Strategic mission to strengthen the talent pool of the sector
The biotechnology and medical technology sectors are currently facing a talent shortage
The biotechnology and medical technology sectors are currently facing a talent shortage: our members are struggling to find the profiles they need locally. In addition, the availability of professional skills development centres in a Region is a factor in attracting foreign investors. Wallonia must adopt an ambitious talent development strategy.
In response to these findings, the Walloon Government commissioned BioWin to coordinate a strategic study in the field of training in order to:
1. Qualify and quantify the main training needs of Biopharma companies (biopharmaceuticals, cell therapy and biomanufacturing) and Medtech companies in Wallonia (5-year requirements).
2. Draw up a list of training courses to be organized as a matter of priority (5-year horizon) and define the target groups for the training courses to be implemented (workers, job seekers, apprentices, teachers, students, etc.)
3. Propose an effective, competitive and economically realistic strategy to meet the demand of the Walloon companies BioPharma and Medtech and the talent shortage currently facing the sector in Wallonia.
This strategic mission will have to be completed by April 2020.
