Industry leaders, investors, researchers and policymakers active in health and medical technology to meet in Belgium on September 21, 2023

Suarlée, Namur, Belgium, June 21, 2023 – BioWin, the health cluster of Wallonia, today announces the programme for the 8th biennial ‘BioWin Day,’ the premier event for life science professionals and decision-makers in biotech, biopharma, medtech and e-health. More than 400 Belgian and international organizations from the healthcare industry attended the last in-person edition, with 40 on-site exhibitors.

BioWin Day 2023 features an exhibition packed with structured networking sessions to facilitate new business connections. The programme includes interactive workshops with leading experts on ATMPs (Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products), growth & financing, health data and talent. To connect with other industry professionals, during the matchmaking sessions throughout the day attendees can organize one-to-one meetings.

Four interactive workshops focused on the cluster’s strategic projects will take place simultaneously:

One workshop will focus on ‘ATMPs in Belgium: challenges, opportunities and concrete initiatives.’ This will provide a comprehensive view of ATMPs in the country through informative presentations, insightful discussions and interactions with industry experts. Confirmed speakers include Ingrid Maes, from Inovigate, Birk Vanderweeën, from Legend Biotech, Diane Kleinermans, from INAMI/RIZIV and Christian Borgniet, from Exothera

– During the ‘Thriving in the biotech jungle: exploring strategies for growth in a bear market’ session, speakers will delve into the reasons behind the sustained interest of biotech investors in the face of turbulent times. Jan Van den Bossche, from Andera Partners; Bart De Leeuw, from Fund+; Benoît van den Hove from Euronext, Denis Dufrane, from Novadip Biosciences and Kristoff Vercruysse, from TargED Biopharmaceuticals will provide investor insight on how to navigate the dynamic biotech industry and capitalize on opportunities

– The session on ‘Unlocking the power of health data: pioneering the future in healthcare innovation,’ will offer a deeper understanding of the opportunities and challenges associated with the secondary use of health data. – During the ‘Nurturing talent in life sciences: strategies for sustainable HR development’ session, speakers will address ways to remedy the talent shortage. These include Sonja Willems, from the Observatory of the Belgian Pharma Industry, Xavier Pessesse, from the Centre de formation HeLSci-ULB, Geraldine Yung, from UCB, Laurence Candaten, from Randstad Professionals and Christel de Potter, from Hudson
